Delphine Douglass, PFCC Teacher, Curriculum Director and Center Director, has a master's degree in elementary education with a K-12 reading specialist certificate. She taught for 20 years in Texas and Louisiana, primarily in the areas of developmental and remedial reading and writing. Delphine has studied Waldorf education since 1997 at the Rudolf Steiner College in California, Rudolf Steiner Institute in Maine and currently with Novalis Institute in Minneapolis. She operated Prairie Flower Preschool from her home and at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Ames for three years, and served as curriculum director at the current location for three years. Delphine and her husband Jim Werbel have one son, Ian.
Darla Holliday, Assistant Teacher, is a dedicated student of anthroposophy, the supporting philosophy of Waldorf education. She has remained connected to the AWA community since she and her daughter Sarah first joined a playgroup in 1998. Darla has been an assistant teacher at Prairie Flower since 2003. She has provided afternoon care as well as led the 2005 summer program. Her husband Mark Holliday was on the AWA board for several years.
